Company philosophy
- Individuality
- Functionality
- Design and aesthetics
- Innovative technology
- High quality workmanship
Individual household accessories, which become a lively focus and at the same time fulfil the function of furniture; this is the basic principle of XENTELON designs. Clear shapes, luxury materials, high quality workmanship and innovative lighting engineering characterise XENTELON illuminated furniture. The exclusive use of black and white, combined with the colourfulness of the light, lead to an unmistakably clear aesthetic.
Company history The company history of XENTELON began with a material.
At the Euroshop trade fair 2005 in Düsseldorf, Petra Daniels-Abel, who has been working as a self employed interior designer since 1986, discovered a plastic made of twin wall sheets. The individual hollows inspired her to the idea of letting light shine through them. First of all she made designs for standard and table lamps. From this she developed the first designs for furniture which consistently used this basic idea and implemented it further.
At the furniture trade fair in Cologne in 2006 Petra Daniels-Abel got to know the light designer Michael Lahme. He has designed and produced successful lighting objects for hotels, offices, museums and private houses, especially with LED technology, for many years with his company in Dortmund. Together they developed the illuminated furniture even further. The plastic material was replaced by glass; the illumination was done with LED technology. The self developed control programme enabled an individual play with light and colour. Prototypes of a standing lamp, a table lamp and a sideboard were built and presented for the first time at the marketing trade fair in Hamburg 2006. The huge amount of interest and the active encouragement spurred them on to further furniture designs.
So various individual furniture designs were made for the first complete illuminated furniture collection, consisting of sideboards, wardrobes, shelves and a desk.
In autumn 2007 the production of this first furniture collection began.
In December 2008 Petra Daniels-Abel started to build up the furniture brand "XENTELON Lichtmöbel" under her own name, which was established via a sophisticated, individual sales structure in Germany, Russia, Great Britain, Italy and.
In March 2009 the showroom and office in Dortmund was opened.
In May / June 2009 the furniture collection was extended with a CD rack, a writing desk, a presentation desk and a lectern.
In October 2009 the first in house "XENTELON Lichtmöbel" shop opened in Dortmund.
For autumn 2009 it is planned to take part in the millionaire's trade fair in Amsterdam. At the beginning of 2010 XENTELON illuminated furniture will be presented at the IMM in Cologne and the Milan furniture trade fair.
Showroom openings in Moscow, St. Petersburg and London are being prepared for early 2010.
